6/23/2023 0 Comments Caveman by jo raven![]() ![]() Not that I hate angsty books- I love angsty books-but the blurb is so misleading! ![]() Especially with the blurb that comes with it. This book isn't necessarily bad but I do have few issues with it.įirst of all, this book is very angsty and I wasn't expecting that. (Librarian Note: This story is loosely connected (as a sort of sequel) to Zane (Inked Brotherhood, #3).)Įdited because I made a mistake regarding the Hero's age but my opinion still stands. For a limited time, I have included ZANE, a standalone novel, and MICAH, a standalone long novella, as bonus. *** This is a standalone, full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. That’s the only rule – and one I’m about to break. One thing is for sure: I can’t fall for the Caveman. Zero interest in making me feel welcome in his home. Plus, he’s looking for a nanny – and I am desperately looking for a job. He’s a gritty, grease-covered mechanic, and a single daddy. Matthew Hansen is the kind of handsome that has grown women whispering behind their hands and giggling like schoolgirls.ĭark, tall and mysterious, he’s a newcomer to our little town. ![]()

To finance his drug habit, he turned to crime, becoming known as the "Building Society Bandit" and the "Gentleman Bandit", because he only robbed institutions with adequate insurance. Where competing hypotheses exist he picks one and runs with it, rather than detailing the academic debates and different schools of thought. What that means is that, though everything is grounded in fact, Halliday does not get lost in the details*. Stylistically, Otherlands is a narrative non-fiction book. Far more interesting are the little-known eras and places such as the Italian promontory of Gargano during the Miocene Messinian Salinity Crisis (5.3 mya), the sweltering warmth of Seymour Island in Antarctica during the Palaeocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum (41 mya), or the underwater life around the Silurian Yaman-Kasy vent in Russia (435 mya). Halliday includes well-known sites such as end-Cretaceous Hell Creek (66 million years ago, or mya) and the Carboniferous world of Mazon Creek (309 mya) or Lagerstätten (sites of exceptional fossil preservation) such as the Cambrian Chengjiang biota in China (520 mya) and the Australian Ediacara Hills during the Ediacaran (550 mya). The 16 chapters in Otherlands, each accompanied by a gorgeous illustration from Beth Zaiken, step back in time by millions or even tens of millions of years to visit a place on Earth and describe its ecosystems and organisms. Rhian grows up a potter's child in Long Ford and the wind whispers secrets in her ear. Of course, that couldn't happen or there wouldn't be a story. The baby is sent away with a priestess who just lost her own child, fated to live and die in obscurity. But her priestesses have foreseen that this child, ' Lastborn, Stormborn' will bring their destruction. The tale opens as the young Mother of the city of Lir rejoices in the birth of a daughter.
